FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book?
Click the ‘Book Now’ button and follow the prompts. We require a $90 deposit at the time of booking, and the rest will be paid for on the day. All Riddle Room bookings need to be made 24 hours in advance.

If you want to book in with less than 24 hours notice please contact us on our Facebook page and we'll try our best to fit you in.
What does it cost?
2 players: $55 per person
3 players: $50 per person
4+ players: $45 per person

Public holiday bookings have a minimum price of $180 for all experiences, which is equivalent to a four-person booking.
What if I come with less or more people on the day?
As long as the number of players is within the game’s minimum and maximum, then it’s no problem at all! We will only charge you for the number of people playing on the day.

The Nightmare: 2 to 7 players
The Dungeon: 3 to 8 players
The Hotel: 4 to 8 players
The Hideaway: 3 to 7 players

The Mine: 3 to 7 players

Public holiday bookings have a minimum price of $180, which is equivalent to a four-person booking.
The Nightmare A and B?
We have two identical Nightmare themed rooms. This allows us to run larger groups split across two rooms. If you have 7 or fewer people you can book either room.
How many people can I go with?
The Nightmare: 2 to 7 players
The Dungeon: 3 to 8 players
The Hotel: 4 to 8 players
The Hideaway: 3 to 7 players

The Mine: 3 to 7 players

We recommend a team of 4 - 6 as groups of 2 have quite a low success rate. If this is your first time doing an escape room, we strongly recommend having at least a group of 4 people, so that you have a better chance of escaping in time!
What can I bring into the room with me?
We request that all players lock their belongings in one of the lockers provided. We permit water bottles and emergency items in the room. If you are unsure, please ask the staff when you arrive.
How scary is it?
Different people find different things scary, so it's hard to say definitively. Some rooms contain loud and sudden sounds that may frighten some players.

For a guide on how scary a room is, check out the 'scare factor'.
Large Group Booking?
We can host up to 44 players at once, split across six rooms.

For groups of 8 or more, we usually recommend splitting your group across multiple rooms. Any combination of rooms can work. For the more competitive groups, we even have two duplicate Nightmare rooms where each team can race to the finish!

For large group bookings, we recommend contacting us to help you through the booking process and arranging a suitable time.
Cancellations or No-Shows
Unfortunately, all bookings are final. If unforeseen circumstances cause you to be no longer available for your session, please try to contact us via our Facebook page/email at least 48 before the booking date, and we’ll do our best to rearrange your session time.

If the group is a No-Show, the session will not be rescheduled or refunded.
Buying and Redeeming Gift Vouchers?
You can purchase instant gift vouchers through our website.
Click here to select from a range of gift vouchers.
Gift vouchers are valid for 3 years from purchase date.
Gift vouchers are also available for purchase in-store, so next time you play one of our escape rooms, why not grab a gift voucher on the way out!*

*Please note that Riddle Room is open by appointment only.
What happens on the day? What if I’m late?
Riddle Room runs on a strict schedule, so we highly recommend that everyone in your group arrives 5 - 10 minutes early. This extra time ensures that everyone gets a chance to sort out any remaining payment, catch up with friends/family and use the bathrooms.

If someone in your team is late, please do your best to notify us. We’ll try our best to give you the full experience, but late players may receive less time in the game.
Are Walk-Ins accepted?
Riddle Room only opens when we have a booking, so all sessions must be pre-booked at least 24 hours in advance.

For short notice bookings, please contact us via email or Facebook and we will do our best to fit you in.
Is there wheelchair access?
The games at Riddle Room are wheelchair friendly. We would recommend having at least one non-wheelchair player to assist in completing puzzles. Some rooms have spaces that are inaccessible by wheelchair, but the majority of all rooms are accessible.

Unfortunately, we do not have access to an accessible toilet.
Age limit?
The Hotel requires all players to be at least 16 years old. All other rooms have a recommended age limit of 14+. However, younger players can play if an adult accompanies them.

Participants under the age of 14 MUST be accompanied by an adult player.

If you are thinking about hosting a younger group in The Nightmare or The Dungeon, please notify us beforehand.
Can I pay with cash or card?
We accept both Cash and Card in store. Please note that card payments will have a 1.6% surcharge to cover processing fees.
Can I bring food to eat with my group after we play a room?
Unfortunately, we do not have food facilities at Riddle Room. Cafe Gommy’s is located next door and has a range of food and beverages available during their operating hours.
I want to personalise a puzzle in one of your rooms to surprise a friend, can I do that?
We love doing custom things in our escape rooms for our customers. Hiding photos, special notes/messages, custom items, or something more exciting.

Let us know what you have in mind, and we’ll try our best to incorporate it into your session.

Charges may apply, subject to availability and time restraints for more complex customisations.
Am I really locked in?
All games are fitted with emergency exits, so players are free to leave at any time. Although, this does not count as 'escaping' the room.
I've already played all of you rooms, what other escape rooms can I do now?
If you’ve played our rooms and want to do more, we recommend checking out our friends at Escape Rooms Canberra or Revelation Puzzle Rooms (now Missing Klues Escape Rooms)!

There are also many great rooms in Sydney if you want to make a day trip! We recommend checking out The Cipher Room, Next Level Escape, Labyrinth Escape Rooms, The Cool Space, and Social Escape.

You can read about these escape rooms and more here.
I had lots of fun, what can I do to help?
If you had a good time trying to escape our rooms, you can leave us a review on either TripAdvisor, Google or Facebook. And, be sure to tell all your friends how much fun you had OR you can share our Facebook page on your wall.
